HAPPY NEW YEAR! TWO NEW SHOWS ON SALE TODAY!
Merry Christmas and Happy Hogmanay to the CMB x As You Werewolves that subscribe to the newsletter. I hope you had a lovely festive season, and that the fissures that formed in your family over dry roast turkey and Coke-soaked ham regarding vaccines and pronouns are as fixable as they are regrettable.
I personally had a fantastic presents haul this year from jolly old Sinter Klaus. I got two separate striped Portuguese terrycloth dressing gowns (one candy-cane striped, one “gelato-inspired”), a screwdriver with over ten detachable heads, pants, socks, books, paper, pens, and a Breville VCF125 Mini Barista espresso machine. I’ve also been experimenting with prescription medication that I don’t have a prescription for, which has been incredibly rewarding.
Thank you for everybody who said nice things about the SCOTLAND STANDS UP show on New Year’s Eve. You can watch the whole thing on BBC iPlayer, so feel free to check that out.
Just a quick one on the Substack to say that I’ve stuck two more work-in-progress shows on sale in March, and those will go live on-sale at twelve noon on Tuesday 7th of January 2024. Which is, to say; today! Sorry for the late notice, but I still wanted to give first dibs to the CMB x As You Werewolves of the CMB-Hive.
My two midweek Glasgow Comedy Festival work-in-progress shows sold out uber-rapid, so I‘ve sorted out two more weekend-adjacent new material binges on SATURDAY 15th MARCH at 1.35pm and SUNDAY 16th MARCH at 8.45pm at the Flying Duck, which is a lovely vegan nightclub in the city centre that I used to get rat-arsed in.
Get your tickets for the Saturday show by clicking HERE and get your tickets for the Sunday show by clicking HERE.
Also, please bear in mind that I am going to be doing the Here Comes The Guillotine live shows with Frankie Boyle and Susie McCabe in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh in March, as well as my collaboration with the Alasdair Gray Archives to celebrate the 850th anniversary of Glasgow. What a mad sentence!
Plus, I’m also doing a work-in-progress at Leicester Comedy Festival in February, so if you know any Leicesterheads who you think would dig the wistful radiance of my company, please get them to come along.
Peace and love in the new millennium,
CMB x As You Were
P.S.: I just saw the film about Robbie Williams where he’s played by a CGI chimp tonight. I nearly cried four times.
